A Cardiff University graduate, having an Honors Degree in Law and German, she has decided to be a teacher. Added to the picturesque surroundings in the Rila Mountains are the natural water-springs around her house, which she describes as "unique". Albeit overrun by foreign hotel investors, the Black Sea coast remains as attractive a destination for British tourists as ever. An avid lover of mountains, Caroline moved to Bulgaria only last July with her husband Lewis. An ongoing search for new cultural experiences has been the definitive factor in an interesting and at times really thrilling life for Caroline. But the Black sea coast has really made an impression on her. Caroline says that you can't experience the true Bulgarian feel in the cities; it's the villages that have the inimitable sense of history. Combined with her love of the mountains, she claims that she has found a truly unique environment here in Bulgaria. Considering Bulgaria's awaited EU-membership, British citizens now see investment in the properties around the country as very lucrative. Her husband Lewis has also decided to be a teacher and will start a course in July. Here, it seems, is in fact what Caroline has always wished for: a quiet little house in the mountains, the place she loves so much, that is close to a metropolitan area that provides great opportunities to pursue a new and interesting career. In her opinion the extraordinary experience that the tourists will want, and namely, the peace and quiet, will be ruined due to overcrowding with too many hotels and attractions on the seaside. It was a factor in our decision to come and live here as well." Caroline has not only found a paradise home in the Rila Mountains, she has also come across a lucrative job for herself. It's a fantastic experience for me to be able to be part of something like this." And indeed, Caroline and Lewis did not hesitate to purchase a house in Pchelinski Bani, a village near the ski-resort Borovets. It's attractive, because here there is a way of living that is totally unfamiliar to most foreign tourists. I've not been here for long, and everything for me is still new and interesting." Caroline has grown to adore the feel, the essence of the Bulgarian Lifestyle, although she is not a city person. Maybe it's exactly this difference between the urban metropolitan life and the quaint rural existence that makes Bulgaria such an interesting and unique place to visit. Only recently having completed her teacher-training course in February this year, she now works in an Elite private language school. Places like Sozopol and Nesebar are really fantastic to visit. She's traveled all over the country, and visited historic landmark towns like Veliko Turnovo, Kazanlak and Plovdiv. That is unimaginable in England." Caroline has had a lot of experience in Bulgaria. The adventurous thrill seeker has now decided on a career in teaching here in Bulgaria. The Bulgarian seaside is fantastic, she says, but it is awful to see how greed and money can spoil something so beautiful. The culture, the history, it's all there. What she finds most attractive in this country are the little villages, the quaint, subtle atmosphere that you can only find here, in Bulgaria.

In the global economy “immigration exceptionalism” doesn´t exist. It seems self-confident and under-stated - which are two of the better national characteristics. My favourite family group was a mother, father and daughter from China - the little girl in bright red, plastic raincoat, holding up her certificate for the cameras. One of my neighbours at the FT recalls that when he became a citizen many years ago, all that happened was that he got a letter from the Home Secretary saying that he was “minded” to grant him citizenship. The first one took place in Britain in January, 2004.I found today’s ceremony genuinely moving. The government brought in a citizenship ceremony - loosely modelled on the US. The largest single contingent were Bangladeshis. The roll-call went: Sierra Leone, Australia, Colombia, Hong Kong, Bulgaria, Somalia, Congo, Uganda, Ivory Coast, the Phillipines, the USA, China, New Zealand, South Africa, Bangladesh, Australia (again).  The sheer range of places people have come from is  dazzling. The solicitor said merrily - “I’ll give her a call and tell her.”I always found this British casualness about citizenship quite re-assuring. The UK immigrants are far more likely to be retirees. Then everybody sings the national anthem: just the first two verses, so that the new citizens do not have to engage with that confusing passage about “crushing rebellious Scots”.The citizenship ceremony is a new thing in Britain. Then they go and get a certficate and their photo taken with a man in a fancy uniform, in front of a Union Jack and a portrait of the Queen. They announce the birth-place of each new citizen, as they come up to get  their certificates. They got as far as 16 countries, before one was repeated - Australia. This blog covers a wide range of topics, from US foreign policy to the European Union and the "war on terror". With the other nationalities, Spain is importing labour. It’s an open question which of these two imports has been more disruptive for Spaniards. With them, Spain is importing capital, invested in the property market.

The purchase of real estate by foreign citizens in Bulgaria raises a new obligation at least for those who buy directly without registering a Bulgarian ...

A member of staff explained how the plan will evolve and told us that when these draft maps were approved in one or two months all land in regulation and ear-marked for regulation, as shown on the map, will remain so for the foreseeable future. A number of air companies have applied to fly to Bulgaria’s Bourgas airport. After that, the foreign property owners will be invited to receive their registration card and to pay the due fee for the service. All land not in regulation, agricultural and forestry land will remain so classified and will not obtain permission to change status for the foreseeable future. Also be very careful about the municipalities that refuse to divulge this type of information. Cosy relationships between big developers and the local council officials with lots of money changing hands under the table was the status quo. Drive south to discover deserted beaches and cute little villages for pit-stop lunches. Even the locals have no idea and get very, very annoyed. Everybody will know what the value and status of land for sale will be. Flanked by two bays with good beaches on either side, the old town's cobbled streets are crammed with bars and restaurants. Foreign entities that already possess properties in the country do not have the obligation to register. Foreigners will no longer buy land in the middle of nowhere for silly money with no prospect of being able to build on it. French investors who designed the complex are also planning to build a hotel, golf academy and a number of boutiques, restaurants and nightclubs. He had not been himself, but had heard that they had useful information. However several days later our friend became more reconciled as he discovered that some councils hid their plans and showed the information only to the privileged few. In line with the Treaty of Accession, self-employed farmers who are citizens of EU member states will be able to acquire agricultural and forest land for usage as of the accession date. In short, the whole business will become totally transparent with no possibility of clever tricks any more. In the compound, along the Ropotamo River, there will be a golf course stretching over some 800 acres. In the meantime some councils will embrace true open government whilst other cling to the old corrupt ways of the communist past. Ireland’s Ryanair, the UK’s Easy Jet and Germany’s German Wings already presented a flight schedule to Sofia airport, Dnevnik said. It is recommended the intermediary real estate companies and the notaries to inform their overseas clients for their new obligation. It will be done by the respective institutions. More chaos Everything you need to know about Land During a recent visit to another agency, and after being shown a great deal of land for sale, the agent recommended we visit Pomorie town hall to see the plan for the area. RA will be obliged to find the foreign owners in the Property Register and register them formally. Ralph Fiennes, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and Goldfrapp Bulgaria's current and future golf development projects From a website ....... Registration Agency advises buyers to require from the notary to give them the deed and not to delay it without a reason. Sofia Airport is also negotiating with Ryanair, as well as with no-frills rival easyJet, according to local press reports. The agent had been extolling the beauty of land and quoting prices, which now bore no relation to the municipal plan for the area. The airline will connect the southern Bulgarian city with airports in the UK, Spain and Germany, which have the densest Bulgarian emigrant populations in Europe. The announcement will take place with official letters to the addressees, pointed in the registers. The availability of a BULSTAT code will allow the country to determine more easily the entities liable to taxation, explain from RA. The entry into the BULSTAT list should happen within 7 days after the property purchase. The hotel should be able to provide accommodation for 1,000 people. The individuals with double citizenship – Bulgarian and foreign – who are owners of real estate property, are not obliged to make a BULSTAT registration. The legislator’s presumption to require such a BULSTAT registration is that the foreign entities that are not permanent residents can not be identified. The maps were colour coded and very easy to understand. The mayor of Primorsko is Dimitar Dimitrov, who announced the deal in the beginning of March 2004. The result of this confusion leaves drivers totally at a loss as to whether they are legally parked or not. The spiders cannot keep up with the drivers who constantly park in the wrong place. The term starts form the day in which the owner receives his/her deed. Their shortcomings were that they landed at remote airports and the flight times were inconvenient, according to Dnevnik. They should make a BULSTAT registration within 7-days after the deal in the Registry Agency (RA). They work 18 hours, seven days a week and charge driver 35lev (17e) for recovery. This must be the only town in Bulgaria with yellow lines and they are totally meaningless to Bulgarians unless they have been abroad, specifically to the UK. This obligation proceeds from the new BULSTAT Register Act that comes into force in 11/08/2005. This ordinance aligned the Constitution with the Community’s rules in the field of free movement of capital. This was the business situation our friend preferred as it gave the possibility of making some real money. This year there are two and they lift a car every 20 minutes. To our amazement on entering the council chambers we saw very detailed maps of the whole of the Pomorie area. We can only assume that this lack of transparency is linked to graft of one kind or another. We can only believe that this sort of practise will be stamped out as the EU acts on complaints. We went to the town hall and were told that the council chambers were open to the general public from 3 to 5 in the afternoon and that there were official maps and council staff on hand to answer any questions. When you reach Sinemorets, you'll find this is where the movers and shakers of Sofia hang out.

Britons in Bulgaria - Dual nationality

Britons in Bulgaria - Dual nationality
Britons living in Bulgaria | About Bulgaria | Property in Bulgaria | Listing of ... Some British citizens have dual nationality, meaning they are also ...

Acquisition of British nationality or citizenship does not necessarily cause you to lose your nationality of origin. Being a dual national can affect the level of consular help you receive. But there is no law that says the Consul must do this, and the Consul will need to be satisfied that there is absolutely no one else who can help. Consular care available for dual nationals Her Majesty's Government (HMG) provides consular protection to all British nationals overseas. HMG has a direct interest in and takes seriously reports of British nationals in distress. If under the law of that country you are liable for any obligation such as military service, the fact that you are also a British national does not provide exemption. If you are British and also a national of another country then you are a dual national. In providing consular help, HMG does not draw a distinction between different categories of British nationals (for example British citizens, British Nationals (Overseas), British Dependent Territories citizens, British Overseas citizens, etc). It is for them, and not for Her Majesty's Government, to determine whether you hold the nationality of their country. Nor does HMG distinguish between those who have acquired British citizenship through residence in the UK or by other means. Some British citizens have dual nationality, meaning they are also nationals of another country. The authorities of your other nationality are entitled to take the view that HMG has no standing in this matter. There are legal limits to what we can formally do in such circumstances. You should check with the authorities of any other country with which you are connected.

But unfortunately the resource of free residential units is almost settled on 100 %. Cost of such real estate offered in Bulgaria, depends first of all on the stage of its construction works and the site of the complex – remoteness from the sea, prestigiousness of the resort/city, development of the infrastructure. Generally the attitude to Bulgaria has always been warm and friendly. And, nevertheless, the Russian buyers’ interest to Bulgarian real estate has appeared not so long ago and now starts to really grow. It is necessary to note, that the Bulgarian language has similarity to Russian, and barriers in dialogue at their citizens with local population, as a rule, do not arise. Konstantin and Elena ” and „ Golden Sands ”) make residential units with out-of-town location attractive for both foreigners, and Bulgarians. Purchase of apartments and houses here gradually becomes alternative to purchase of country properties in Russia. Quality of the infrastructure is defined, in particular, by the quantity of the shops located nearby, beauty salons, pools and sports halls.
