After three years she has had enough - of Britain. Another student, Irina Lichkova, 24, adds: "I spent five months working in Belfast last summer. BMWs are more in evidence than tractors.Bulgarians point out that most of the country's young talent has already left. But Bulgaria is experiencing its own wave of migration - from Britain. But on Friday and Saturday night everybody gets drunk. But she dislikes Britain's culture of binge drinking and the fact that her teenage daughter has been bullied at school. Earlier this week the Sun ran a front-page photograph showing what it said was a vast queue of Bulgarians who had "laid siege" to the building. I don't know why."Ms Boeva has spent the past three years living and working in Swansea. I don't like it in Britain much," Ms Boeva, a 37-year-old care assistant, said. I'm going back for a couple of months to collect our things. It's my country," says Rostislav Tsonev, a 20-year-old student at Sofia University. Lured by some of the cheapest property prices in Europe, British families have started new lives here. Of those, most wanted to go to the US, Spain, Greece, Italy and Germany. Others already lived in the UK and were renewing visas. Over the past 16 years nearly 1.5 million Bulgarians have gone to work abroad, mostly to the US and Canada. Pensioners have to survive on €25 a month. She is coming home to Bulgaria."I'm fed up. The Bulgarian government says the total number of migrants going abroad will be more like 10,000 to 15,000.A Gallup poll in February suggested the number of Bulgarians wanting to leave the country has gone down to 7%. The Bulgarians intended to work in the UK when Bulgaria - together with Romania - joined the EU on January 1, the paper suggested. In fact, most of those queuing up yesterday were visiting Britain for a holiday. The government seems to tell ordinary people that foreigners living in the UK are dangerous to British people. The population has shrunk from 9 million to 7.6 million. The prices appear to be so reasonable."The number of Britons living in Bulgaria has doubled in the past year (some 1,152 were given residency in 2005). The trend is now slowing."I want to stay here. Then we'll start a new life in Bulgaria."Ms Boeva was one of around 50 Bulgarians trying to get or renew visas at the embassy yesterday. Bulgarian Properties for sale and rent - buy houses in Bulgaria ...

A month ago the local people welcomed the first 3 families from UK, who came to live in their newly-bought houses. Ever since, the atmosphere in the village is very different and much livelier. The local people not only welcomed heartily the foreigners, but also try to help them with everything. The real estate properties in the region of Sakar Mountain have become well-known and much preferred by the British people thanks to a real estate agency located in the capital of Sofia(note: the agency is Bulgarian Properties Ltd. For a short period of several months British people have bought 60 houses in the village of Granitovo. Many houses are also sold in the villages of Sinapovo, Srem and Mramor. Another British family lives in the village of Knyajevo. In the beginning the local people in the village of Ustrem were suspicious about the newcomers and thought them unfriendly, but soon found that the new residents are young, smiling and friendly people and welcomed them warmly. Angela and Ran Brook are sitting under the trellis vine in their new house in the village of Ustrem, enjoying the sunny afternoon. They come from Liverpool and are the first British family, which settled in the village several weeks ago. Now they have given shelter to Ronda and Antonio from the city of Manchester, who have purchased a house in the village of Knjazevo and are waiting for the repair work to be completed. The two families have met in Bulgaria but are already good friends. But in reality it is far more beautiful. Here, in this beautiful village, we feel wonderful. Near Sakar Mountain and close to Tundja River we find all the peace we are missing back home. This is the perfect place for lasting recreation.” Angela already knows a little Bulgarian, which she learned from her English-Bulgarian phrase book, but most of the time she tries to talk to her neighbor old grandma Mina. I can’t wait to learn your language and understand her stories better. I want to learn about the haidouks (Bulgarian rebels)”, says Angela in Bulgarian. Trinity”, were we saw the mortal remains of several rebels killed during the Turkish yoke”, she adds. Angela remembers very well the moment when she went for a walk with a cart driven by a donkey. But what she and her husband Ron love best are the evenings spent in the house of their neighbor uncle Ivan. Everyday I write him and tell him how wonderful is the life here and he is very eager to buy a house in Sakar Mountain” ends her story Angela. The roads will be repaired thanks to the foreigners “The arrival of the foreigners is a good investment for us. Now we have to do our best to make the village look better and prettier. Thus we will advertise it more successfully”, says the mayor Hristo Ilchev. The local authorities have already developed a project for repair of the streets and creation of more attractions for the tourists. Part of the sum will be used for the reconstruction of the monastery “St. Trinity”, which is located only 5-6 km away from the village of Ustrem. Thus, this architectural monument with 180-year history will become a major attraction for the tourists in that part of Bulgaria. Most of them earn their living planting tobacco, but this work is labor-consuming and low paid”, adds the mayor. Unattractive and desolated houses are being transformed into beautiful homes with landscaped gardens. The shops offer more and various goods and the local people try to maintain the streets cleaner”, says the mayor and can’t hide his happiness with the changes. Best sold are the houses close to the forest The British people prefer to buy properties in the outskirts of the village, which are not very close to other properties, but are near the forest. All houses bought in the village of Ustrem have inner bathroom and toilet, large veranda and spacious yard. At the moment houses here are sold for the price of 12-13 000 BGN. Some of the local people plan to sold their properties and move to the town close to their children, while other hope they will be useful as gardeners or guards of the newly purchased houses.

Property Overseas: Cash in on Your Rental Potential - Sofia News Agency
Indeed, according to MRI Property International, 24 million of us are considering buying overseas. So if rental income is an important factor in choosing your ski home, where should you invest? Take some tips from Holiday Rentals, which features 900 European ski chalets and apartments, mainly in France, Switzerland and Austria, and will be taking on 2,000 in North American this year. It has compiled its top five best and worst places to own a ski property if rental income is a priority. Properties in the top-performing places can expect 20-25 weeks annual occupancy and rents for an average two-bed apartment range from £120 per person per week in Bulgaria to £250 in France, it says. And you should be ready for business when the first surge of bookings starts in mid-October. Properties in Austria (www.propertiesinaustria.com; 0131 208 3795) is selling large, modern, two-bed apartments in the centre of town for £393,000 or three-bed Tyrolean houses outside for £293,000. Prices are high, with five-bed chalets with exceptional views across Mont Blanc on sale through Prestige Property Group (www.prestigeproperty.co.uk) from £1.1m. The similarly upmarket Verbier in Switzerland's Valais canton comes third. But while the moratorium on foreign ownership has just been lifted, property quotas for non-resident buyers in the canton remain restricted to just 300 a year, mostly allocated to leaseback projects to encourage year-round use. Borovets, where apartments cost from £40,000 through Imoinvest (www.imoinvest.com, 0207 845 0700), sees the lowest demand for rental properties. And Bansko, where you can buy one-bed apartments in Paradise Verde from £24,000 through Experience BG (www.experiencebg.co.uk, 0800 612 0901), is number five. It'll take a while before emerging resorts like Bansko take off for rental demand," says Wylie. For the greatest appeal to renters, pick a ski-in, ski-out property, says Sanderson. Proximity to the ski lift and a good ski area, within 90 minutes of an airport and in a lively resort are other pluses. Two- or three-bed apartments are better than one-bedders because they can accommodate friends, families or couples. A long-haul ski property may rule out your own spontaneous weekends on the slopes, but the rental potential can prove more reliable than buying in Europe. At the Three Sisters Mountain Village in Canmore in the Canadian Rockies, the local passion for active outdoor pursuits - from skiing and climbing to mountain biking and golf - is unwavering, ensuring good 12-month rental potential. Mont Tremblant, 90 minutes from Montreal, is famed for its golf, lake-bound activities and cuisine as much as its snow scene. People want to hear that they can sit in a hot tub on the terrace and overlook the Alps," she says. Reply promptly to 1nquiries and treat it like a business.
