VISA for Bulgaria? ... - Thorn Tree Travel Forum - Lonely Planet
British citizens holding valid passports can enter Bulgaria for up three months, and have the right to stay longer if exercising an EU Treaty right, ...

A "visa" is a permit allowing you into a country. A country abolishing the visa restrictions for a country that makes it hell for the citizens of the first country to get visas isn't not acting in favour of its own citizens. As for the tit-for-tat visa policies - I think it's rather childish and will rather stand above it and allow people in regardless of what that other country does. Belarus and Russia still proudly insist on making it as difficult as possible for foreigners to enter and travel around their countries. BUt agree those brits should be having that oldstyle punishment they like so much in UK for not knowing the essential facts. By the way, "VISA" is a credit card company. Exercise common sense, make your own inquiries and get expert advice. Explore the richest source of global travel content on the web and let it fire your imagination. Get guidebooks, maps, downloads, DVDs, journals, audio guides and other bargains, and get your next big trip on the roll. I'd rather not have a government that welcomes anybody and everybody and allows foreigners do whatever they please. I'm sure you've never had to apply for a US or Schengen visa yourself. In the end, showing you're above such pranks may help abolish these barriers. It's 2007 and we don't have time to pick our noses and jab at our neighbours while China and India are coming up to compete with us. No part of this site may be reproduced without our written permission. Politicians often don't understand this or don't have anything to gain with that attitude.By the way, I'm all for a free flow of all EU citizens for labour and living, delaying it a few years will not help anything. Some countries like Romania were slower than others in scrapping visas and probably lost out on tourism income and image improvement because of it. Some people are just not very clued up on which countries are actually in the EU. The new eastern EU members' citizens can freely travel within the EU now but some still face rather unfair and populist limitations on living and working abroad. Um, what confusion??As for tit-for-tat, I don't think it's childish, rather 'fair'.
