He was held captive by three abductors near Sofia and was saved Tuesday night during a special police operation. The kidnappers demanded ransom of GBP 44,000 for the release of Briton.During the operation police killed one of the Bulgarian kidnappers after he opened fire. They will receive their awards at the Policeman of the Year ceremony that will take place next week.The policemen were awarded for their work for the rescue of Christou Fanos, a British citizen of Greek Cypriot origin.
